PARK'N'RIDE
Hanover/ Germany
The City of Hanover is characterized by its great green parks and the postwar ideals of a 'car-friendly' city. The project Park 'n' Ride deals with the transitional areas of urban landscapes and infrastructure. Various tunnels, bridges and underground passages are not only spatially monotonously and untended, but also unsafe places within the city.
A passage undercrossing a highway is transformed into an atmospharic space: Upon a black background motifs from the forest are painted using white reflecting color. New lights are installed to increase the safety for bikers and pedestrians.
The project is planned as a series of similar interventions transforming these typical urban places.
