INTERIM BLOCK ARCHITECTURE

InterimBlockArchitecture is instant city! An interim product of thermal insulation composite systems. Borrowed from the production process, assembled as 'instant city' and in its final destination used for insulation of buildings. No waste, no loss of worth, but a cultural upgrade for a banal product.

Space and atmosphere
counter, wall, roof, corridor, beam, sideboard, walkaround, stairs, plateau, tribune, tower. In-between, on top, below, inside, narrow, wide, light, dark.

Program and Performing
exhibit, project, present, discuss, spray, hang, glue, film, enlighten, dance.

Extruded polystyrol rigid foam is a product which like no other represents the starting point of the debate on sustainability in architecture. On the long term doubtable, but momentaneusly without economically comparable alternatives.
The foam blocks, borrowed from the production chain, are used as large scale building blocks - easy to use and quick to assemble. In order to enable a further material use, the blocks are temporarily assembled with tension belts.
