RUBBER HOUSE 2.0
Almere/ The Netherlands
The Rubber House emerged from the competition "Simplicity" held in 2006. It is one of 12 houses in the experimental settlement "De Eenvoud" in Almere. The solid wood construction contains of a double storey building part that is connected to the up to 4.80m high major living room via a split level. Except for the façade facing the terrace, the house is completely clad with a black rubber skin. Contrasting the exterior, the appearance of the inner spaces is characterized by the warm surface of the solid wood. The high level of prefabrication allows a precise assembly of the elements as well as a short construction period of only 3 month.
