GREENING THE UNIVERSITY

The student initiative “Greening the University” engages itself for a future proof development of the differing campus areas in cooperation with students. Within this setting Cityfoerster have devised and carried out a scenario-workshop, where students were able to describe and depict their images and demands for a current and sustainable design of university facilities. During this workshop not only development strategies were devised, but also practical design elements in differing scales were designed. The ideas range from short term measures up to complex infrastructure projects, hybrid buildings with workshops, live-work units and performance spaces, communication and guidance systems, façade designs and a cable car, as an efficient means of transport between the different locations. The documentation of the results is being used by the students as a basis for future development processes.
