Oliver Seidel (architect + urbanist) is a co-founder and director of CITYFÖRSTER architecture + urbanism.
He previously worked, amongst others, as an architect and urbanist at Henning Larsen Architects, Copenhagen and Beyond Green, London. Oliver studied architecture and urban design at the Leibniz University of Hanover, the Berlin University of the Arts and at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. In national and international competitions he won several prices. Further to teaching and lecturing at various universities, he is actively involved in the Chamber of Architects and an associate of the transdisciplinary think tank Stiftung Neue Verantwortung. 2012 Oliver Seidel was a fellow of the German-Chinese Campus: “Zukunftsbrücke - Toward a Low Carbon Economy: Sustainable Urban Development in China and Germany in the 21st Century.” As a city-expert for future urban living environments he is a lecturer and consultant for the public sector as well as for corporations, organizations and initiatives. Oliver believes that, In order to meet the complexity and extent of future challenges, an integral and hereby inherently cross- disciplinary way of thinking and acting, over and above sector borders, is the key to a holistic development of the built environment.
